Manmohan, Amrit, Bush and Jessica !
President Bush is likely to cause a rift in the family of the Indian Prime Minister. Manmohan is welcoming Bush (though the level of security is eye-popping) to India while Manmohan’s daughter, Amrit, an attorney at the American Civil Liberties Union, is attacking the Bush administration for failing to book any high U.S. officials despite mounting evidence regarding the abuse of prisoners in many places.
Of course, these are matters of disputes in high places. Whether right or wrong the powerful ones get away scot-free. Always. At least,- almost always.
The story is the same in all places, - India as well as the US.
That’s why in India we find that nobody saw when Jessica Lal was shot and killed with many people around seven years ago.
The verdict is such that no one murdered Jessica,- although she died and the police found the high profile main accused pretty early in the case.
Finally, the main accused with connections in high places was found not guilty !
Just like no high officials of the US of A were found guilty in the ghastly treatment of the prisoners at Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay !
